From the first chapter I felt like the author was rushing me through the story. Honestly I was disappointed. From my perspective this is not what I am use to reading from Ms. Reynolds. If asked I would sadly have to tell the reader, pass.

Another hit from ARR!

Another hit from ARR! This was my first read in the Ruby Falls series, and after reading this I definitely need to go back and read the first book! This book focuses on Tide and Aria, who went to high school together but never hung out in the same crowds. Aria’s family isn’t well-liked in the community and even though she isn’t like them, she’s treated as such. Tide is a hometown favorite, and after his breakup with his ex they co-parent his daughter although she’s used as a pawn. When Aria’s marriage fails, she decides to return back home to the place that has always felt like home to her, and upon arrival ends up feeling overwhelmed by the state of the house. Calling for a repair service, none other than Tide arrives, and at first, he doesn’t recognize her, but she recognizes him as she had a huge crush on him back in the day. Once Tide realizes who she is, he realizes that everyone was wrong in town for looping her in with her parents and after fighting some crazy chemistry, they end up getting into a relationship, but start to work to overcome hurdles such as Aria’s mother and Tide’s ex. There were aspects of this storyline that I didn’t see coming, especially in Aria’s family, but I think that’s what really set the book apart from others. I’m excited to get to know more of these characters as ARR writes! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Relationship Goals

I won’t lie, this is one of my most anticipated books for this year. I was giddy excited to know Tide was getting his own book. Loved him so much in Falling Fast, he’s Colton’s best friend. And I am here to tell you that neither he, nor his book disappoint. I feel like ya’ll should’ve seen this coming...because I’m me...and Tide’s him....consider this my claiming. Tide is about one of the sweetest Neanderthal’s ever, so MINE, and yes I did feel the all caps was necessary. He called himself a Neanderthal, so his words not mine. Aria has recently moved back to town, and Tide is the guy renovating her house. Right from their first meeting, instant chemistry, and after they get together...they don’t separate...ever. He knew he wanted her, and lets her think it’s casual to not scare her away, but she quickly finds out it’s definitely not casual. Safe read. Two divorcees trying to find their much deserved hea. I loved seeing Tide get his hea, and I think Aria was the perfect person for him, and she too deserved a happy hea. They are just so good to each other, he’s so thoughtful of her, and she is thoughtful of him as well, relationship goals. I adore how she is with his daughter, and he is a great dad. Pumpkin guts fight shenanigans, and the spin class shenanigans, laughed so hard at both. Got to read about Colton, Gia and their baby boy, Gino. Epilogue with multiple timelines, wrapping everything up and giving us a great look at their adorably sweet and much deserved hea. This was such a great feel good story, and they just took me to my happy place. Relationship goals all the way.
